At the age of 24, I bought my first home for $27,900 in Harrisburg, PA. It was not the fanciest, not the most elegant on the block nor was it in the most pristine neighborhood. But it was what I could afford at the time & it was a place that I owned & could call home. After now having moved into & out of many homes, I will always remember the purchase of my very first home. I remember receiving the keys from across the desk at the closing table & the exhilaration of going back to my home…to cut the grass in my yard. Because again, this home was now all mine.
